Kevin started his legal career with the Walt Disney Company in 2007, where he cut his teeth supporting Labor Relations and Human Resources policy for Disney’s California theme park operations and its 17 active Labor Unions, before expanding to support both upcoming and established national firms as General Counsel, during which time Kevin, acting as the sole in-house Legal representative, developed and implemented an innovative practice of creating robust and successful Human Resources and Legal Compliance departments from whole cloth that are optimized for success and compliance, successfully traversing the country’s most harsh and difficult regulatory atmospheres, such as California and New York.
Continuing with his penchant for managing difficult regulatory and compliance environments, Kevin later worked as Chief Legal Officer for a significant player in the food manufacturing space, establishing and maintaining significant compliance protocols, maintaining Intellectual Property compliance, real estate portfolio compliance, and participating in significant litigation involving Intellectual Property rights enforcement, PACA enforcement, California DOL actions, and many other contract actions as well.
Currently, Kevin serves as General Counsel for SmartFinancial.com Insurance, LLC., bringing significant insight and experience to bear on all aspects of compliance and business development, including Human Resources policy, contract management and negotiation, new business development, regulatory and TCPA compliance, and litigation management. Kevin is also a real estate specialist, holding a California Real Estate Broker’s license, as well as a NMLS Loan Broker’s License.
