Trump Picks Big Tech Foe Carr to Lead the FCC
President-elect Donald Trump
has selected Brendan Carr to chair the FCC. In a statement released on November 17,
Trump noted that “(Carr) will end the regulatory onslaught that has been crippling America’s Job Creators and Innovators, and ensure that the FCC delivers for rural America.” Eric Troutman, who
posted an extensive breakdown of what the Carr pick might mean for the lead gen industry on TCPAWorld, notes that Carr has already spelled out his vision for the FCC in
Project 2025, the political initiative published by the Heritage Foundation. In Project 2025, Carr noted “[t]he FCC needs to change course and bring new urgency to achieving four main goals: i) Reining in Big Tech; ii) Promoting national security; iii) Unleashing economic prosperity; and iv) Ensuring FCC accountability and good governance.”
