FCC Moves Forward with Rulemaking
ICYMI, on March 16, the FCC finalized rules that require carriers to block robotext messages that are likely to be illegal. The agency noted that more rules might be on the way, including a proposal to clarify that Do Not Call Registry protections apply to text messaging. The Hill’s Scott Goodstein has an interesting take on the hypocrisy of this measure.
FCC Proposed Rules: The Industry Perspective
The latest rules were originally proposed on February 22. PACE’s Rob Seaver sat down with Michele Shuster, General Counsel, Mac Murray Shuster, LLC and Deborah Solmor, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at TCS Education System for a comprehensive industry overview on the rules and what other actions from the FCC might lie ahead.
